(Flint, MI) It was a chance meeting at a downtown bus station in Flint, Michigan that led to an endearing friendship with a Deaf woman that inspired Melecia Scott of Flint to write a book about their relationship and life-long bond.
The Meeting is a non-fiction, touching, true story based on the friendship between Melecia and Kizzy, chronicles their journey, and leads these two women to God’s purpose and destiny for their lives, as well as the impact Kizzy’s life made on both the hearing and deaf communities. The book details the challenges in the friendship and how Kizzy’s life and death motivated Melecia and the Deaf Ministry to start the Hands of Praise Deaf Choir at Canaan Baptist Church in Flint.
A book signing is planned for Sunday, June 9, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Canaan Baptist Church located at 910 E. Gillespie Street in Flint, Michigan, 48505.
