My name is Dr. Keesha Karriem, and I recently launched two Children’s Books in 2020 and 2021, based on Emotional Intelligence and Diversity.  They both became Amazon Best-Sellers. I am committed to creating inspiring books that teach both young and old about Emotional Intelligence, diversity, values, and those with special needs. I have an accompanying song on iTunes.

What’s the name of your books?

My books are entitled:  1)  Always Always Keep Your Promises and 2) Always Always Love Yourself and be Happy; this book also has coloring and tracing pages in the back of the book.  This book also has an accompanying song on iTunes featuring my 5-year-old twin nieces, who are my inspiration for my books.

What is the motivation behind your books?

My motivation is to inspire all children of all cultures to love themselves.  I was blessed to grow up loving myself in my childhood as a dark-skinned little girl.  It was not always easy, but my mother motivated me to love myself, and I want to pass this on.

Tell us about your business, products, services, or book.

Always Keep Your Promises and Always Always Love Yourself and Be Happy are books based on Emotional Intelligence (EI), Diversity, and Inclusion.  The main characters are Black twin girls (nieces); who learn throughout their adventures to love their skin color. Studies show that EI skills can lead to happiness.

What’s next for you in 2022?

In 2022, I am hoping to create a video to accompany my books and the song that is already available on iTunes.  I feel it is important for our Black children to see us not only in print but in media living a wonderful happy life.  I also have a personal book that I am inspired to create, but right now, I’m going to keep that a secret-shhh!
