I was raising three children, served in ministry for over ten years, completed my degree, and then—Divorce: the grenade that shattered my world and scattered emotional debris in every direction. I got cut wherever I stepped.
“Get Up!” I heard God say, “I have plans for you.”
So, I did. I fought, clawed, fell on my knees, and crawled—But I got up. God fought alongside me every step of the way. We survived. We relocated. We built a new life.
The arduous journey turned out to be fruitful. The lessons drawn from walking with God were ripe. I turned to writing—journals, devotionals, essays, and a novel that I started years ago and suddenly felt renewed interest in.
In that flood of words, ideas, and late nights sitting in front of my laptop, I was invited by my friend to join her anthology of stories written by women like myself—In the Pursuit of Fearless Living: Pivoting from Life’s Uncertainties.
I accepted that all the previous seasons lead me right into this one. I left the past in the past and stepped into my Purpose. I had one goal—to write books; one obstacle—to overcome my fears; and one solution—to trust God with all of it.
There were three stages to this: First, I had to get up! Then, I needed to walk closely with God to know where I was going. Lastly, to overcome the obstacle that fear posed, God called me to walk upright in a posture of Peace!
My Chapter in this anthology, “Check Your Posture” shares how Scripture is instrumental to walking through the healing process.
