They provide services to the elderly, disabled, and veterans in their homes, hospitals, nursing homes, and other facilities. Their objective is to free the caregiver so they focus on their own needs while we provide day to day services such as cooking, cleaning, bathing, and other services. She is the founder of Power Up Summit and Level Up Your Visibility Virtual Summit.

You’ve been very successful in creating profitable events. What prompted you to start this business?

She has been creating events in the community for over 15 years. During this time Mrs. Cherry has coached and mentored individuals who had their event. She realized the need to start offering group coaching so more people can learn how to not just have an event, but be profitable. It’s important not to just have a “BIG” party. Everyone leaves with something, but as the event host, you are leaving empty and broke.

What would you say is the purpose of an event and who should produce them?

Everyone should have an event. An event will immediately increase your visibility if promoted correctly. It will also increase your credulity. I often tell speakers instead of seeking speaking opportunities, you should create your event. Develop a platform for other speakers. Being able to create a brand that others can attach their name to is powerful.

How does having an event help your brand?

An event will increase your brand visibility which ultimately will increase your profit. It also adds credibility to your brand, if it is done correctly.

“When one door is close try the next one, if it’s close go around to the back, kick the door down or just Create Your OWN, but never give up.” Success Must Be Taken!

Is collaborating with other brands a good idea for events?

Absolutely! Collaborations are about building relationships. These relationships can turn into profitable partnerships. Collaborating allows you to save money because if you are working on a project you are now sharing expense and manpower. You each bring your team. Each person has their contacts which allow you to tap into their following. You each have your talents and gifts that you bring to the collaboration. You want to form collaborations with individuals who match you. You want to look at the principles, integrity, and commitment to success.

What are some mistakes people make when producing events?

They just don’t take the time to make an overall plan which includes making money. Many people create an event without setting goals, writing down the vision and mission statement. They have not checked to see if it is wanted or even needed.

What are 5 tips for producing a successful event?

After producing events for over 15 years, she has decided to create a group coaching program that assists people in being successful and profitable with virtual or in-person events.

  1. First, Make a Plan – many people don’t start with a clear plan. It doesn’t have to be perfect, but you need a plan.
  2. Secondly, build your team. Having the right people with the right skills on your team is essential.
  3. Identify multiple streams of income. You cannot count on ticket sales for the main source of event income. Many people lose the battle right here. Get creative.
  4. Selecting the right speakers. This is critical. Bringing the message is one thing, bringing the people is another conversation.
  5. Lastly, promote your event. This is more than posting a few graphics. You must develop a plan.

What is the focus of the Success Women’s conference and who are some of your top speakers?  Success Women’s Conference’s theme this year is “It’s time to BELIEVE”. It will be virtual this year October 5-11, 2020.

Success Women’s Conference was created because the women in the community needed something. Our mission is to inspire, empower, recharge, and connect women. Our conference has drawn over 1,000 attendees in person with keynotes like Lisa Nichols, Robin Roberts, Dr. Iyanla Vanzant, Dr. Gloria Mayfield Banks, and others. Each year we also recognize women who are top influencers. This year we are recognizing women from around the nation.

Some of our keynotes and main speakers this year will be Dr. George C. Fraser, Forbes Riley, Sharon Lechter, Dr. Cheryl Wood, Lisa Liberman- Wang, Erik Swanson, Dr. Stacie N. Grant, Bill Walsh, Cheryl Polote-Williamson, Quonda Renee, and more.

What adjustment have you had to make for the conference due to COVID?

I had to change my Power Up Summit from in-person to virtual in less than ten days. I didn’t want another conference in Zoom so it was a lot of work, but successful. It is important to me that my conferences in-person or virtually elevates my brand.

You also have a new book Trailblazers Who Lead and now launching another anthology, Make It Happen, What will authors gain by partaking in this book? They will be able to call themselves a bestselling author, increase publicity, visibility, and exposure.  I am a big believer in promoting yourself through magazines, podcast interviews, radio and They will have an opportunity to build their speaking platform as well.  This book anthology will also have a bonus program as well. I am looking for 30 co-authors to join me.
