Faith is a Language
Many find themselves asking… Where is God? Does He not care that people have lost loved ones, jobs, many are down to their last dime; trying to hold on to what the have because they have no idea where their next meal is coming from.
I’ve heard many great Theologians, Bishops, and Pastors asked that one question many are asking, including Believers, “Why is God allowing this to take?” My response will follow theirs, “I don’t know why.”
This is what I do know…stay with me.
Sometimes we need to be reminded of the picture of Jesus hanging on a crucifix, to be reminded that he suffered, felt pain, fear, and had to exercise faith all while dying. Dying not for His sins but for OUR sins! Why do we need to be reminded? Because, we are not used to seeing Jesus on a cross most wear around their necks so therefore, we forget what He went through to no longer be hanging there. Please take a moment and let that sink in.
It’s ok to have moments in a storm as the disciples did scrambling, running around on the boat in the midst of the storm. As Jesus did what? Well… He was sleeping. Yes, Jesus was asleep during a storm. The disciples went and woke him saying, “Lord save us! We’re going to drown! (Matthew 8:25 NIV) First of all, if I’m Jesus, I’m going to be a little upset that you woke me up from my good sleep. Hey but that’s just me. I can hear Him thinking, “Did you not see me turn water into wine?” (John 2: 1-11, NIV) Back to the story… He replied, “You of little faith, why are you afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. You see when Jesus speaks to the elements even, they must obey! The storm has no choice but to stop raging.
So, you see, Jesus is with us during this pandemic; whatever issues or struggles you may be facing today. He never told us we wouldn’t have problems, hard times, that loved ones would lose their battle with cancer or COVID19, or that long relationship term would end without marriage.
What He did promise was “To never leave or forsake us (Deu 3:6, NIV), that He would go through the valley with us, and that you will come out of it not smelling like smoke. Give you beauty for ashes (Isaiah 61:3)
Remember, Fear causes you to exercise Faith, Faith is a language that God understands, He is waiting to respond to your Faith. Lastly, Faith grow in unfamiliar places. Think deeply about that.
Don’t give up on Him, He would give up on you.
Be Blessed ~
