Dr. Marcea is renowned for her empowering messages and transformative principles, inspiring audiences worldwide to “boss up” in life and in leadership.
Courageous Woman Magazine had the pleasure of interviewing her. Let’s dive into her journey and insights on courage, empowerment, and leadership.
Introduce yourself and tell us about your journey to becoming an internationally recognized speaker, coach, and author.
I started off wanting to change my life, to change my decision-making, to become more confident. But through my journey I was then compelled to help others. Once I got my footing, my purpose was born and there was no stopping me.
You’ve been recognized as International Woman of the Year; could you share your perspective on what this honor means to you and its significance in your journey?
This is a major honor and I am grateful to have been selected on 2 consecutive years. This recognition on an international stage for my work, as a woman, for women is monumental and awe-inspiring!
What inspired you to establish In Full Bloom Health and Life Coaching, and how does it aim to empower professional women?
As I started my business, the flower became a powerful image. We tend to live closed, limited, and restricted seasons of life. The purpose of In Full Bloom Health and Life Coaching was to empower professional women to live full, to open up and to bloom – right where they were planted.
As the CEO of In Full Bloom Health and Life Coaching, what are the key principles or strategies you emphasize to help individuals break free from personal limitations?
The key components to breaking free from personal limitations are
1) discover who they are
2) decide what they want, and
3) deliver on their destiny.
Could you share a pivotal moment in your own life where you had to summon courage and how it shaped your perspective on leadership and empowerment?
A pivotal moment was when I gave myself permission to do life differently, to trust myself, and to color outside the lines of life. I left a marriage that was killing me slowly but surely. Not knowing what was next was tough but I had enough courage to continue to move forward and to find out.
Tell us about the Girl Boss Life Academy. What motivated you to create this platform, and what do you hope women will gain?
During my transformation I discovered that every strong woman is powered by the Girl Boss inside. This Girl boss is powerful, confident, and she has a strategy for success. I help Women find their inner girl boss and “boss up” in life and in leadership.
In your experience, what are some common challenges professional women face in today’s world, and how do you guide them to overcome these obstacles?
Professional women are still playing by the rules they learned in childhood…Mother May I, Simon Says, Duck Duck Goose. I help professional women change the game from the inside out.
As a featured expert in Forbes and other major media platforms, what do you think is the role of visibility and representation in empowering women?
Visibility is critical. We are like lighthouses guiding ships to shore. When we don’t show up, when we don’t shine, those ships, those other women, remain lost.
Hosting the “Up Sis Up!” Women’s Empowerment Radio Show, what topics do you focus on, and how do you envision it contributing to the empowerment of your audience?
Up Sis Up! Heard on the Mega Source Entertainment Network app is a source of women’s empowerment that brings topics to the forefront that help women to rise up, speak up and boss up.
Looking ahead, what are your aspirations for the future of your work and the impact you hope to make in women’s lives globally?
I believe that there are many in the world who are living underneath of their potential. My goal is to impact lives globally by encouraging women to step out of the shadows, to unmute their voices and to embrace their gifts so they can live life In Full Bloom!
