What advice do you have for aspiring speakers who aim to make a meaningful impact in their respective fields?

It important to speak from the heart. Be dynamic and authentically you while delivering your talk. That is one major ingredient to a successful and impactful talk.

What inspired you to become a speaker, and how did you embark on your journey in the world of public speaking?

Although, I have been told since I was a little girl I belong on a stage because I speak very well, I am an introvert. So, I took in the kind regards but deep down I felt I could never do it. Well, fast forward a couple of decades, my lived infertility experience has helped me to step outside of my introverted nature because my story can and will help others. Thus, after participating in social media lives, I started to gain momentum and requests to share my experience with others. Hence the start of my speaker journey.

Can you share a specific instance where your personal journey or challenges significantly influenced your speaking content or approach?

My lived infertility experience makes up a significant part of who I am and what my mission entails now. As such, the challenge my husband and I endured and suffered through to build our family is a major challenge that influences the content of my talks. Also, due to the sensitive, stigmatized, and tabooed nature of infertility, my approach is that is relatable, empathetic, empowering, and informational.

In your opinion, what role does vulnerability play in effective communication, and how do you incorporate it into your speaking style or podcast discussions?

One of the most commonly received feedback I get after leaving the stage of a talk is my level of relatability and trust exuded during my message. I hear that time and time again. I did not initially set out to be relatable, simply authentically me. So, it was refreshing to receive that relatability feedback from the people in the audience. All in all, it is my vulnerability, transparency, and authenticity that is coming through and serves as a trust-builder to those I am speaking to, with, and about.

How do you approach the development of your content to ensure it is both relevant and resonates with a diverse international audience?

Part of my lived experience is to always continue to research and learn what I can to better equip me to help others. As such, whatever the demographic makeup of the audience I am speaking to, I find out the unique attribute they possess and develop my content around it. I also research specific statistics as related to the audience and prepare my content with that in mind as well.

Topics I speak on include:

1. Beyond Barriers: Embracing Identity and Resilience Beyond Infertility.
2. Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders: The Vital Role of Mentorship for Women in Leadership.

3. Nurturing Tomorrow’s Resilient Minds: The Impact of Youth Mentoring on Emotional Wellness.
